Pune Warriors India (PWI) retained Sourav Ganguly

Pune Warriors India has successfully retained Sourav Ganguly, the former Indian captain, and the most successful Indian captain in foreign soil, for the IPL 2012 season 5. Ganguly had previously captained the Kolkata Knight Riders during the first and third seasons of the Indian Premier League. In the IPL Season 4, he played for Pune Warriors India as a replacement player.

During the 2011 IPL Players Auction, Ganguly was not picked by any team. However, later he was signed by Pune Warriors India, where he scored 50 runs in four matches and three innings. Pune Warriors India retained Ganguly on the last day of the IPL 2012 Transfer Window.

Earlier we have reported that Sourav Ganguly to captain the Pune Warriors India in 2012 edition of IPL. This is one step forward towards that step.
