Kochi IPL players to be in IPL 2012 auction

The players of Kochi Tuskers Kerala (KTK) will be participating in the IPL 2012 player auction on February 4, 2012. The franchise had been terminated by the IPL governing council in late 2011, and their bank guarantee of Rs. 167 Crores was encashed.

However, if any of the Kochi IPL players fail to attract a bid and remain unsold, their salaries will still be covered by the IPL through the franchises bank guarantee that has been encashed by BCCI. The team includes renowned players like former Sri Lankan captain Mahela Jayawardene, spin bowler Muttiah Muralitharan, former Kolkata Knight Riders captain and New Zealand wicket-keeper Brendon McCullum, and Indian young star Ravindra Jadeja.
