Andrew McDonald transfers to Royal Challengers Bangalore

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have secured the services of Australian all-rounder Andrew McDonald from Delhi Daredevils for a transfer fee of US$100,000 during the IPL 2012 Season 5 transfer window trade.

In the previous season (IPL 2011), McDonald only played one match for Delhi Daredevils. He has only featured in six games throughout his three-year IPL career, scoring 76 runs and taking five wickets.

However, the team manager for Royal Challengers, Avinash Vaidya, expressed his excitement about the addition of McDonald to their squad. Vaidya stated that all-rounders are an invaluable asset and McDonald’s ability to excel with both bat and ball in various formats of the game make him a major inclusion for their squad. McDonald is the fifth player to be traded during the current transfer window, following the likes of Dinesh Kartik, R. Satish, K. Pietersen, and Harmeet Singh.
